Experience and Training
I am a qualified counsellor, trained at Re-Vision, the Centre for Integrative Psychosynthesis in London.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. If you would like to know more about this, please visit:www.bacp.co.uk
Before I trained as a counsellor, I worked for about 20 years as a social worker in both hospital and community settings. As a result, I have a lot of experience of working with people from very different backgrounds, cultures and lifestyles. This has also given me an understanding of some of the difficulties people face at different stages in their lives, and of how they can develop awareness and new strengths to help them to cope.
What You Can Expect
- I aim to offer you a warm, supportive and honest relationship in which we can explore together how best to help you.
- I will adopt a flexible approach to suit you and your circumstances, rather than your having to fit into a particular style.
- I use a written contract, tailored to your unique circumstances and signed by both of us, so that we are both clear about the arrangements we have made for our work together.
- I will take care to review our work regularly, in order to ensure that we are dealing with what is most important to you.
I observe BACP's guidance on confidentiality, and I carry professional insurance.
